Opal Lee Sill was born in Kendrick, Oklahoma on September 12, 1934 and departed this life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Opal was the daughter of Charles and Virgie (Coombs) Melton. She was a resident of Lincoln all of her life. Opal was a member of the First Christian Church in Stroud, she served as Sunday School Superintendent, Church Secretary and Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and owned and operated Sill Farm Supply in Chandler. Opal loved to get out and work in the garden, cook and spend time with her family. She married Jimmy Leroy Sill and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Kenneth, Otis, Herbert, Charles Jr. and one sister Lela. Survivors include, two sons Jimmy John Sill and wife Noelle of Sapulpa, Monte Sill and wife Montie of Norman, special nephew Paul Alan Degner 'PAD' and wife Rosa of Jacksonville, FL., one sister, Edith Mae McFarland of Midland, TX., brother in law John and Mary Sill of Blanchard, OK, four grandchildren, Heather, Jonathan, Garrett and Bryson, several nieces and nephew, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church in Stroud on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Paul Ragle officiating. Burial will follow at the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
