Oma Viola Ross, of Prague, was born Sunday June 23, 1907, in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, to Jess and Irabell Hammons Loveland, and died on Saturday August 23, 2003, at her home in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years and 2 months. Mrs. Ross had lived in Prague since 1970, moving from Seminole. She was a homemaker and of the Assembly of God faith. Oma was blessed with a long life and a large, loving family. She enjoyed dancing and did so into her 90?s. The family wishes to express their thanks to her caregivers, with a special thanks to Tina Congleton. She married Sherman Lee Ross on February 26, 1924, and he preceded her in death in 1971. Her brothers, Claudie, Fred, Wendt, and Georgie Loveland; her sisters, Lillie Bowen, Marie Kyles, and Effie Morland; and a longtime friend, Charles Fletcher, also preceded her in death. Her grandson, Bobby Dewayne Ross, preceded her in death by only a few hours. Surviving relatives include sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Wanda Ross, Paden, Bobby and Sue Ross, Paden; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Howard Dawkins, Prague, Patsy and Frank Sedlacek, Prague; 11 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, August 26, 2003, in the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Prague, Oklahoma, with Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery, Seminole County. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague, Oklahoma.
