R. A. Ogburn was born on September 12, 1917, in Paden, and departed this life on Sunday, October 23, 2011, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 94. R.A. , the son of Thomas Allen and Minnie Luna Belle (Harper) Ogburn, was a life-long resident of Prague and Paden area. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II where he saw service in African-European-Middle Eastern Theater of Operations. R.A. married Geneva Violet Smith on October 8, 1945 in Lawton. He was a farmer and retired from the Prague Schools following 32 years as a bus driver. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and the American Legion. R.A. loved to play dominoes and watch OU Football. His parents, five brothers, and three sisters preceded R.A. in death. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Geneva Ogburn of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Glen Ray and Regina Ogburn of Sand Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Merle Zunigha of Glendale, AZ; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herman Ogburn of Modesto, CA, Tom Ogburn, Jr. of Sand Springs. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM, at the Assembly of God Church in Prague with Rev. Kevin Wehrli officiating. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery.
