Odell Raines

Odell Raines was born on February 7, 1924, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, September 30, 2003, in Prague at the age of 79. Odell was the son of James Monroe 'Jim' and Sarah Ellen Marler Raines. He lived in Lincoln County most of his life, worked as a heavy equipment operator, and attended the Assembly of God Church. Odell also served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. In 1954, Odell married Patsy Musgrove in Van Buren, Arkansas. His parents; 5 brothers, Onis, Inelo, Linnus, and Inman Raines and Newman Williams; 1 sister, Omo Wagner; and 2 sons, David and Stanley, preceded him in death. Survivors include, wife, Patsy Raines of Prague, OK; children and spouses, Dannie & Erlene Raines of Oklahoma City, OK, Donny Raines of Oklahoma City, OK, O.J. & Mary Raines of Oklahoma City, OK, Debbie Flippo of Oklahoma City, OK, Stephanie & Glen Clonts of Paden, OK, and Terry & Sheila Raines of Prague, OK; sisters, Ovie Chastain, of Prague, OK, Loretta Kerr of Prague, OK, Lodema Morrison of Muskogee, OK, Dretha Smith of Muskogee, OK, and Dretta Smith if Van Buren, AR; and 24 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2003, at the Paden Cemetery, Paden, Oklahoma, with Rev. Kevin Wehrli officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service.
