Norman Hughes

Norman Otis Hughes was born on March 25, 1923 , in Gilliam, Arkansas, and departed this life on Monday, July 9, 2012, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. Norman, the son of Otis Therron and Margorie Sue (Lemley) Hughes, was a resident of Paden. He proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Marine Corps during which time he saw action in the Pacific. He married Alma Agatha (Duffy) Hughes on May 22, 1944 in Fredricksburg Virginia. She preceded Norman in death. On December 31, 1998, Norman married Loyce Ann (Caldwell) Suva in Prague. As a young man, Norman was baptized in a Southern Baptist Church. His parents, a brother, and a granddaughter also preceded Norman in death. Survivors include his wife; Loyce Ann Hughes of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Cynitha Hughes of Mustang; daughters and sons-in-law, Norma Christine and Johni Warren of Bonham, TX, Barbara Ann and Charles Lenington of Paden; brother, Bobby Weldon Hughes of Texarkana, TX; grandchildren, William Edward Hughes, Robert Allan Hughes, Carol Anne Reed, Zachary James Holland, Parrish Warren, Emily Joyce Lenington; step children, Darryl Wayne Williams, Sherry Arlene Laughery, James Bart Williams, Kenneth Ray Williams,Jerry Franklin Suva; 40 great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery.
