Norma Lou Sturmon

Norma Lou Sturmon was born on July 23, 1930, in Garden Grove, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, October 25, 2014, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 84. Norma, the daughter of Troy and Beatrice Flora (Edwards) Denney, was a resident of Prague. She married Kenneth Sturmon on August 23, 1947, in Seminole and they remained married until his death in 1997. She was a member of Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Norma loved baking, making smock pillows, reading and completing Word Find puzzles. Her parents, husband, two nephews, Troy Don Oglesby and Johnny Oglesby, and brother-in-law, Guy Oglesby preceded Norma in death. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Kenda Kay and Rock Earl of Garland, TX; grandson, Marcus Earl and his wife, Jessyka of Chicago, IL; great grandson, Judah Alexander Earl of Chicago, IL; sister, Melba Oglesby of Banning, CA; nephew, Guy Harrison Oglesby, III and his wife, Cherie; sisters-in-law, Melba Ogburn of Modesto, CA, Ina Burney of Tulsa, and Wanda Coleman of Prague; long time caregiver, Janelle Westerman; many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. The Sturmon family will receive friends on Thursday, October 30, 2014, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014, at Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 PM in Prague with Bro. Charlie Clem officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Grove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
