Nona Mae Derryberry

Nona Mae Derryberry was born on August 28, 1926, in Alfalfa, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, October 18, 2015, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 89. Mae, the daughter of Herbert and Esther (Lomont) Simmons, was a resident of Sparks. She married Malcolm Earl Derryberry on October 6, 1942, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, and they remained married until his death in October, 1994. Mae enjoyed gardening, spending time in nature, being on the home place and taking in stray animals. The best times for Mae were those spent with her family. Mae’s parents, husband, daughter, Thresa Jones, and sister, Martha Faye Crabtree, preceded her in death. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Peggy Derryberry of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Robert Jones of San Diego, CA, Laura Hatcher of Meeker, OK, Tammy Cruz of Amarillo, TX and Tonya Deputy of Amarillo, TX; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Wilda Jean Lowry of Blanchard, OK; other numerous family and friends. Visitation will be held at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM, at White Dove Cemetery in Sparks with Rev. Joe Jones officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
