Nona Lorene Gallaway

Nona Lorene Gallaway was born on August 2, 1917, east of Meeker, Oklahoma, near Gable, and departed this life on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. Nona, the daughter of William Everett and Lavada Walker Johnson, was a resident of Meeker. She married Mack Gallaway on November 1, 1933 in Meeker. Nona was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. Her parents, one brother, 3 sisters, and her step-mother preceded Nona in death. Survivors include her husband of over 73 years,Mack Gallaway of Meeker; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Faye Johnson of Shawnee; sisters, Edna Flowers of Shawnee, Pauline Flowers of Jones; sisters-in-law, Edith Johnson of Jones, Jean Steele of Oklahoma City. Viewing and visitation will be at Parks Brothers Chapel in Meeker beginning at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 25, 2007 until 12:00 PM on Friday, October 26, 2007. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Prairie View Hospice, 724 Manvel, Chandler, OK 74864. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 2:00 PM, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Meeker with Pastor Bryan Pain and Chaplain Hugh Willoby officiating. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Meeker, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
