Nelene Smith

Nelene Smith was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on April 2, 1947, and departed this life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Monday, September 19, 2016, at the age of 69 years. Nelene was the daughter of James Homer and Hazel Frances (Smith) Jester. She has lived in Stroud most of her life. Nelene married Edward Lee Smith. She was a homemaker and healthcare provider. Nelene was a member of the Bristow Nazarene Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward L. Smith in 1996; and one brother. Survivors include one son, Edward L. Smith Jr. and wife Davina of Stroud, four daughters and sons-in-law, Chrysti and Michael Ramsey of Bristow, Oklahoma, Mysti and Robert Reneau of Liberty Lake Washington, Shelli and Jason Bullington of Stroud, Frances Smith of Holdenville, Oklahoma, one sister, Lula Ann Phifer of Fort Smith, Arkansas, one brother and sister-in-law, James and Gail Jester of Long View Texas, eighteen grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Stroud on Friday, September 23, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Anthony Beville officiating. Burial will follow at Avery Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
