Narvelene “Lennie” Wilson Christopher was born January 22, 1948, to John Finley Wilson and Jesse Mae Willis Wilson in Stroud, Oklahoma (Lincoln County). She was the eighth of nine children.
Narvelene attended school at South Stroud Elementary and Stroud High School. Later in 1988 she obtained her GED. Her employment included: Kerr McGee, Oakland Drilling, Texas Society of CPAs, AIG Electronic and St Jude Medical. Her employment led her to residences in Michigan, Tennessee, California, and Jersey. She moved to the Dallas, Texas Metroplex in 1986, after an illness she became self-employed as a domestic engineer and seller of oil fragrances (Smell This Oil Fragrance). In 2018 she moved back to Stroud, Oklahoma. Narvelene united with First Baptist Church of South Stroud at the age of 10 under the leadership of Pastor Lorenzo Jacobs. In 1999-2016 she united with Covenant Church of Carrollton, Texas. She reunited with Jesus First Baptist Church after relocating back home in Stroud and remained there until her death. Narvelene’s favorite pastimes were researching genealogy, taking pictures and videos, traveling, listening and dancing to gospel music. Narvelene never met a stranger. In September of 1964, Narvelene was united in marriage to Clarence Wallace Godwin and to this union three children were born. On June 4, 1977, Narvelene was united in marriage to Frank Wayne Christopher. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, paternal and maternal grandparents, her son Buford Tyrone Wilson, bonus daughter Gail Faye Godwin, brothers Butler, Paul and Leroy Davis, sisters Helen “Moochie” Mixon, Doris Louise Tate, and Dorothy “Cal” Neal.
On October 11, 2024, Narvelene gained her eternal wings. She leaves to forever cherish her memory, Daughter Winfred Gay Godwin-Foster of the home Stroud, Okla. Son John Santoris Godwin of Stroud, Okla. Two bonus daughters Sherry Godwin Okc, Okla. Florence Star Godwin, Dallas, Texas. Eight Grandchildren Salonne Carter, Marvis Thomas, Tyler Foster, SanToya Godwin, Derianne Crowder, Vaughn Youngblood, Angelic Thomas, and John Godwin Il (Tu). One brother, Leslie Davis, Okc, Okla. Two sisters, Irene Coffee and Glenda Spratt, Okc, Okla. Two aunts, Gertrude Montgomery, Philadelphia, PN. and Onedia Barber Okc, Okla. A host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. Her closest friends Della Reed Foster, Joan Bowers and Nina Jones.
