Myrtle Lucille Sargent was born on September 24, 1927, in Idabel, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, September 11, 2011, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. Lucille, the daughter of Ed Franklin and Linda Bell (Frey) Cobb, was a resident of Paden. She married J. L. Sargent on July 14, 1948 in Horatio, Arkansas. She graduated from high school in Idabel and attended college at Southeastern Oklahoma State College where she attained a Master's Degree in education. Lucille retired from the Paden Schools where she taught for many years. She was a member of the Paden First Baptist Church and was very active in church, school, and community activities. Lucille enjoyed fishing and camping. She loved to embroider pillowcases for her grandchildren. Her parents, three brothers, grandson, Mickey Meredith, preceded Lucille in death. Survivors include, her husband of 63 years, J. L. Sargent of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Gene and Lucy Sargent of Broken Bow, Wesley and Carol Sargent of Yadkinville, NC Eddie Sargent of Paden; sisters, Betty Shankles of Big Spring, TX, Margaret Ross of Durant; sister-in-law, Inez Cobb of DeQueen, AR; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Patsy Cobb of Ada; 7 grandchildren; 9 Great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church in Paden with Rev. Terry Pittman officiating. Interment will be at 4:00 PM at the Denison Cemetery in Idabel, Oklahoma.
