Myrtle Almogene “Jean” Carpenter was born on January 28, 1930, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life at her home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, November 3, 2013, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. Jean, the daughter of William and Myrtle Irene (Zade) Nolan, was a life-long resident of Prague. Jean married Willis Carpenter on December 24, 1947. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Prague Round-Up Club all of her life. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her parents, husband and three brothers, Kenneth, Quentin and Archie Nolan, preceded Jean in death. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Ollie Carpenter of Prague; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Jean and Allen James and the late Rick Kubicek of Shawnee, Diana “Bodie” and Steve Quary of Prague, Juanita “Nita” and the late Bob Gregory of Maud, Jenny Lynn and Roger Collins of Prague; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
