Myron Jay Freiburger

January 24, 1946 — March 6, 2024

Myron Jay Freiburger, 78, passed away at his home in Stroud, Oklahoma on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.


Myron was born on January 24, 1946, to Henry William and Betty June (Wisterman) Freiburger in Hillman, Michigan. He was born, raised, and attended school in Michigan and was 1 of 7 siblings. Myron served our country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.


Myron married Pamela Jean Hrymecki in May of 1967. They moved to Stroud in 2016 to be closer to their children. Myron and Pamela celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May of 2017, and she preceded him in death a month later in June of 2017.


Myron worked on the assembly line for General Motors and retired in late 2000 after 30 plus years. He enjoyed playing cards, antique and classic cars, and watching western shows on tv. He also collected coins and had a knife collection.


Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Betty Freiburger; his wife of 50 years, Pamela Freiburger; two brothers, Lyle Wisterman and Francis Freiburger; and a great-grandson, Kizer Boyd.


Myron is survived by his daughters, Kim Cells and her husband Ron Cells, and Melissa Babb and her companion, James Bell Jr.; his son, Myron Freiburger, Jr.; a sister, Gloria Harding and her husband, Harry Harding; Brothers, Arthur Freiburger and his wife, Chris Czyzyk-Freiburger, Clyde Freiburger and his wife Christine Freiburger, and Richard Freiburger and his wife, Brenda Freiburger; grandchildren, Ashley Cells-Colclasure and her husband Brandon Colclasure, Jake Cells, Carlie Boyd and her husband Nolan Boyd, Makayla Bell, and Cody Bell; great-grandchildren, Jake Cells Jr., Atalie Boyd, Boaz Boyd, Jovie Boyd, and Phoebe Boyd; a sister-in-law, Virginia Freiburger; as well as a host of other family members and friends.


Myron’s family will be planning a memorial on the family property back in Hillman, Michigan, later this year. Date to be determined, and once determined, will be sent out via a Facebook post.
