Mrs Sally Lu Balkenbush

Sally Lu Balkenbush, age 80, of Choctaw, OK, was born August 2, 1936, in Seminole, OK. She was the daughter of Louis and Sallie Kane. Sally went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. Sally graduated from Classen High School. She married Joe Balkenbush on November 3, 1953 and lived in the City of Warr Acres. They later moved to the Choctaw area and lived there for over thirty years. Sally worked as an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance Company and retired from that position in 2008. She and Joe proudly raised six children. Sally was an active member of the St. Teresa Catholic Church in Harrah. Her life centered on Joe, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son (Jim), granddaughter (Kim) and grandson (James Paul). She is survived by her husband, Joe, Sons and daughter-in-law, Joe Jr. and fianc Susan Hill, Jeff & Suzanne, David Dolney; Daughters and son-in-law, Jackie Miller, Janice Holloway, Jenifer & Mike Smith, Susan Balkenbush; Grandchildren, Lauren and Greg, Justin and Jessica, Aaron and Christen, Kristen, Kara and Josh, Derrick and Stephanie, Jeffrey Tyler, Erin, Austin, Amanda, Alex, and Abbie; Great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Ethan, Brody, Brock, Brooklyn, Ashlynne, Madilynne, Blake, Kaleigh, Katelynne, Logan, Rylee, Kurstin, Lily, Kennedy, Kayden, Kylie, Triston and many relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Harrah. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Associate of Oklahoma in Sally’s name. Arrangements by Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
