Monte Lee Cotton

Monte Lee Cotton, long-time Wellston, Oklahoma, resident, was born June 12, 1933, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and departed this life May 22, 2016, in McLoud, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years. Monte was the son of Aubrey and Mabel (Hepler) Cotton. He married Laverne Stephens in Wellston in 1952. Monte served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for many years. His parents preceded Monte in death. Survivors include his wife of sixty four years, Laverne Cotton of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Vody Danker of Wellston, and Beverly and Terry Davis of Wellston; four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 26, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Wellston, Oklahoma with Rev. Darrell Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Wellston Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
