Mildred Louise Vann

Mildred L. Vann, age 87, of Choctaw, OK, was born March 26, 1925 in Kellyville, OK. She was the daughter of William & Grace (McGinnis) Barrett. She left this life on Thursday, November 15, 2012, in Midwest City, OK. Mildred married Ernest Vann on December 16, 1941, in Davenport, OK. She retired from the Choctaw School system where she managed the school cafeteria at Indian Meridian Elementary. Mildred enjoyed cooking, sewing, taking care of her kids and grandkids and was a great baker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest, son, Mark Vann and son-in-law, Danny Miller. Survivors include 4 daughters & sons-in-law, Joan & Bob Porter, Newalla, OK, Sandra Worthington, Choctaw, OK, Phyllis & Daniel Walker, Wellston, OK, Sue Miller, Choctaw, OK; brother, L. B. Barrett, Lomita, CA; 2 sisters, Billie Parr, Meadow Valley, CA, Neoma Croshaw, Torrance, CA; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Chandler, OK, with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, OK. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
