Mildred Jewel Worthen, age 86, of Oklahoma City, OK, was born on October 14, 1919, in Poteet, Texas. She was the daughter of Lloyd W. & Dora Caughfield Wagoner. She left this life on September 10, 2006, in Oklahoma City, OK. Mildred graduated from Somerset High School in Somerset, Texas. She was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church in Oklahoma City and was a member of the Women?s Fellowship. Mildred enjoyed painting and ceramics and had her own shop and taught classes. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard V. Worthen; one brother, Eldridge Thomas Wagoner and one sister-in-law, Gertie Wagoner. Survivors include 1 son, Marvin Worthen of Oklahoma City, OK; 1 daughter & son-in-law, Janice & Charles Meloy of Noble, OK; 1 brother, Walter Lee Wagoner of Lytle, TX; 1 sister-in-law, Dorothy Wagoner of San Antonio, TX; 2 grandchildren, Shawn & Linda Irie of Norman, OK, Marcus Worthen of Steamboat Springs, CO; 4 great-grandchildren, Shanee & Brian Newville, Aleena Irie, Kiera Irie and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 14, 2006, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Pastor Tom Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
