Mildred Clarkson

Mildred Clarkson, long-time Chandler, OK, resident was born on January 23, 1917, in Protem, MO, and departed this life on Monday, November 7, 2011, in Chandler, at the age of 94 years. Mildred was the daughter of John C. and Camma Ocie (Herd) Clarkson. She began working at an early age at Mileham Medical Clinic in Chandler, retiring from the clinic at the age of 84. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chandler. Preceding Mildred in death were her parents, two brothers, Johnny and Vernal, and one sister, Fern. Survivors include, niece Pam Farrimond and husband Mike of Owasso, OK, nephews, Clark McLean of Albuquerque, NM, Randy Clarkson and wife Mary of Bixby, OK, Brent Clarkson and wife Toni of Arlington, TX, sister-in-law, Vola Clarkson of Chandler, great-nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mildred spent much of her life doing what she enjoyed most that was taking care of others. She had a giving spirit and was loved by many. Mildred enjoyed being recognized by people who remembered her giving them shots when they were children. She was quick to ask, 'I didn't hurt you did I?' Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Davenport Cemetery in Davenport, OK, with Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
