Michael "Mike" Cale Raines

Michael “Mike” Cale Raines was born on January 9, 1954, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and departed this life on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, at the age of 59. Mike, the son of John Franklin and Lena Mae (Sikes) Raines was a resident of Stillwater. He married Mona Gale (Gandy) Raines on September 14, 1973. Mike graduated from Konawa High School with the class of 1972 and graduated from the Oklahoma Missionary Baptist College Seminary. He pastored numerous churches including Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Ada, Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Broken Bow, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Ringling, Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Prague, and Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Norman. At the time of his death, Mike was the pastor of Grace Stillwater Mission, a mission of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Tecumseh. His father; one brother, Frankie; and son, Jacob Paul Raines, preceded Mike in death. Survivors include his wife, Mona Gale Raines of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Cara Raines of Broken Arrow; daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Shane Fawcett of Stillwater; mother, Lena Mae Groover of Konawa; brothers, Kerman Raines of Poughkeepsie, NY, Nelvin and Cindy Hudson of Seminole; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Jack Havens of Gholson, TX, Jawanna and Chuck Moore of Konawa; grandchildren, Jake, Eli, Leah, and Emma Raines, Sidney and Warren Fawcett. The Raines family will receive friends on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM, at First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Doug Clements, Bro. Mack Peercy, and Bro. Jim Deal officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Grove Cemetery with Bro. Delmar Hume officiating.
