Michael Lee Murray-Ward

Michael Lee Murray-Ward, Davenport, Oklahoma, resident was born July 13, 1961, in Chandler, Oklahoma, and departed this life August 23, 2016, in Davenport, at the age of 55 years. Michael was born to parents Donald Lee Murray and Nancy Ward Murray. He was adopted by his grandparents Howard and Hazel Ward after the death of his mother, Nancy. Michael served in the United States Air Force. He was a Minster for the Church of Christ in Velma, Oklahoma, Finley, Oklahoma, Davenport, Oklahoma and Norwich, Kansas for many years. His parents, grandparents, three brothers, and one niece preceded Michael in death. Survivors include two step mothers, Mary Lee Murray and Verna Murray of Liberal, Kansas; six brothers, Lee and RaeNell Ward of Noble, Oklahoma, Donnie and Crystal Murray of Liberal, Kansas, Buddy and Teresa Stephens of Pratt, Kansas, Kenny and Fran Andrews of Liberal, Kansas, Mike Andrews of Turpin, Oklahoma, and Rick and Michelle Stephens of Pratt, Kansas; five sisters, Cletus Simpson of Davenport, Oklahoma, Debbie Shields and Everett Melson of Stroud, Oklahoma, Lora and Fernando Chapa of Kingman, Kansas, Barbara Manning of Liberal Kansas and Connie and Lee Jennings of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Michael did not have children but he had his many dogs who he considered his children. He was also an avid OU Football Fan. He loved reading and enjoyed going to the movies. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the Church of Christ, Davenport, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
