Michael Kent Smith

Michael Kent Smith was born on July 25, 1967 in Chandler, Oklahoma and went to be with The Lord on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the age of 53. Michael was the son of Carolyn Sue Blakley, step father Bud Blakley and Bob Dewayne Smith and step mother Elaine Smith. He was a 1985 graduate of Davenport Schools. Michael married Darolyn Suzanne Newnam on July 11, 1997 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Michael was an electrician for 35 years owning his own electrical business for the last 19 years. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and his momma. He enjoyed going fishing, traveling to Branson, and having barbeques with his friends. Michael also loved getting to farm, from feeding cows to raising chickens and pigs. Michael loved life and getting to go through it with those he loved. Michael is preceded in death by his parents Bob and Elaine Smith and Bud Blakley, father-in-law John Newnam Sr.; granddaughter Lyla Nicole Pack; Nephew Arron Dewayne Smith and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael leaves behind his wife of 23 years Darolyn Suzanne Smith; mother Carolyn Sue Blakley; mother-in-law Carolyn Newnam; brother Ricky and Genia Smith; step brothers Skip and Tammie Blakley, Dick and Cleta Blakley, Stephen and Karie McKinney; step sister Missy Utley; brother-in-laws Brian and Anje Newnam and John D. and Sheana Newnam; children Megan and Michael Throne, Paige and Jonny Pack, Garrett and Brittney Smith; and Heather Dunavin; grandchildren Alex, Max and Savannah Throne and K.C., Laney and LillyAnn Pack; aunts and uncles Betty and Henry Jones, Shirley Johnson, Raymond Smith, Barbara Smith, and Lola Mae Carter and many numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends. Friends are welcome to say goodbye to Michael Friday, November 20, 2020 at Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Smith Family Property with Brother Mike Mitchell officiating.
