Michael Gordon Goodmon

February 7, 1963 — July 29, 2021

Michael Gordon Goodmon was born in Milan, Missouri on February 7, 1963, the oldest son of Paul Gordon Goodmon & Mary Kathleen Helmich & went to be with our Lord God in Heaven on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Mercy Hospital OKC at the age of 58. Mike & wife Melissa Goodmon were married on August 12, 1988. Mike was blessed & survived by his wife of 33 years, Melissa Goodmon of the home, his 3 wonderful children & their families that he absolutely adored, son Tony & wife Chassary Goodmon of Stroud, daughter Stephanie & husband Christopher Charkowski of Stroud, & daughter Crysta & husband Tyler Tucker of OKC. Mike treasured his 6 beautiful grandchildren, Ryleigh Goodmon, Jordyn Foster, Zane Charkowski, Vance, Verona, & Violet Tucker; 2 brothers Jeff Bishop & wife Holly of South Korea & David Goodmon & wife Heather of Kendrick. Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, & 2 infant sisters. Mike was a general salesman manager. In Mike’s younger years he worked many different jobs & finally settled on sales. He worked at Service King Manufacturing for 16 years, selling drilling rigs all over the world, prior to those years he worked selling manufactured homes in Oklahoma & Texas, also sold tires in Oklahoma, Texas & New Mexico & owned his own transmission & tire shop. In Mike’s spare time he would learn to read/speak Spanish & was taking online real estate classes. There wasn’t anything Mike didn’t know how to do, whether it be working on vehicles to welding, you name it he could do it. He absolutely loved to learn new things especially new technology. He built his own home from putting up the inside walls to doing the plumbing & electrical work. He was a true animal lover of all kinds. He enjoyed sitting in his sunroom watching the wild animals, his chickens, & his beloved 15-year-old dog, Rusty, play in the yard. Mike valued doing things by hand for himself or anyone else. Mike found a fondness in working with wood. He always tried to teach his children & grandchildren how to do things with their own hands. Mike enjoyed helping out in his community, listening to music while brush hogging his land, playing golf, shooting guns, fishing, camping with family, traveling, & singing with the radio. Most people didn’t know Mike had a handsome singing voice. He was a long-time member of the Stroud FBC, Stroud Arts, Stroud Chamber of Commerce, & the NRA. Mike was most proud of his family & nothing could stop him from letting people know by showing pictures & videos. Mike cherished his family deeply, valued his friends like family, he adored talking with people, & helping anyone who asked. Mike never met a person without becoming a good friend after. There was not a person that didn’t like or love Mike dearly. Mike was part Irish-Italian & he wore his emotions on his sleeve, he was smart, funny, kind, loving, caring, so many things & treasured everyone wholeheartedly. Michael was an awesome Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin, & Friend. The Greater the LOVE, the Greater the GRIEF & Mike was loved so very deeply by all, more than he probably could have ever had imagined.
