Michael "Diane" White

Michael Diane (Chastka) White, 65, a resident of Paden, Oklahoma, passed away on November 17, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Diane was born on January 22, 1956, in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Joseph and Harlene (Short) Chastka. She grew up in and around the Weatherford and Moore, Oklahoma areas. As the oldest of five siblings, Diane was known for beating up the neighborhood bullies that picked on her younger brothers and sister. Diane graduated from Moore High School in 1974. Following high school, she graduated from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, with a bachelor’s degree in Education. On August 10, 1974, Diane married Terry White in Paden, Oklahoma. Together they would build a home in Paden. Within these walls love overflowed and soon a daughter Kylie and a son Spencer would run in and out of its doors yelling “Momma”. She loved her children above all else and watching them grow up was her greatest accomplishment. It wasn’t just her children that she loved. Diane loved her nieces and nephews above and beyond. She made each of them feel extra special by giving them nicknames like Sagebrush. She was one you went to when you needed encouragement, to feel safe on your first day of school, or just hang out, dance and sing silly songs with. She was “that” Aunt. Her love of children didn’t stop there. For thirty-one years Diane taught at Paden Schools. If a child ever sat in her class, he or she became “her” child. They felt it and knew it. There is not a student at Paden that cannot tell you a story about how she impacted their lives. The cheerleaders will tell you how she worked with them, danced with them and could yell louder than the entire cheer squad. Her daughter and son’s teammates will tell you how she stood out in the bleachers dancing, yelling and waving her arms. All these students have one story in common. They will say Mrs. White inspired them as much or more out of the classroom and after graduation as she did while they were students. She always had time for them. She always made sure she told them she was proud of them. This is what made her a great teacher. She has touched their lives forever. Diane also spent many summers teaching foreign exchange students in the EFF program where she would share her wisdom, kindness and love with students from all over the world. These summers are where Diane met two of her very best friends. Diane supported every Paden activity and sport, as well as the sports and activities of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and playing on an adult co-ed softball team. Diane’s service to her family and her community will be greatly missed, but her contributions of love will be felt for many lifetimes. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Chastka; and her two brothers, Kelly Chastka, and Pat Chastka. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 47 years, Terry White; her mother, Harlene Chastka; daughter Kylie Teape and husband, Trey; her son Spencer White and wife Elise; grandchildren Alexis Walters and boyfriend Jase Mehring, Jakin Teape, Mikah Teape, and Samuel Teape; Braylon and Darian White and the newest shining jewel in her eyes great grandson Ozzie Mehring. She also leaves her sister, Deanna Byrd, brother, Shaun Chastka and their families along with her sisters of the heart, Mickey White, Clonda Rogers, Ada Johnson, Shay Lackey and Kathy Smock. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She also leaves multitudes of extended friends and family that she adored.
