Michael Anthony Jones

Michael Anthony Jones was born on July 17, 1966, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, May 23, 2011, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 44. Michael, the son of Gladis James and Charlye Mae (Duke) Jones, was a resident of Pearland, Texas. Michael graduated from Boley High School with the class of 1984 and received a Bachelor of Science from Langston University in 1988. He worked for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in Oklahoma City as a social worker. At the time of his death, Michael was a social worker for the AIDS Foundation of Houston in Houston Texas. Michael was preceded in death by his father in 1992 and his brother, Lonnell, in 1987. Survivors include his mother, Charlye Mae Jones of Boley; sisters, Lesa Jones of Okemah and Zella L. Sturgeon of Oklahoma City; friend, Edwin B. Cockrell of Pearland, TX; and many other relatives and numerous friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 1:00 PM, at Amos Temple Methodist Church in Boley, Oklahoma with Rev. Alan R. Threatt officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Boley. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
