Melvin Jack Hessman

Melvin Jack Hessman was born on May 7, 1935, in Paden, OK, and departed this life on Saturday, January 28, 2006, in Shawnee, at the age of 70. Jack, the son of Fred William ?Dutch? Hessman and Lillian Pearl Chaney Hessman, had been a resident of Paden most of his life. He graduated from Paden High School with the class of 1953. He served overseas during the Korean Conflict with United States Army. He attended Oklahoma State Technical School in Okmulgee. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1990. He married Fern Height in Sacramento, California on June 6, 1959. He was a member of the Okemah Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 1 son, Theron Hessman on October 28, 2005. Survivors include his wife, Fern Hessman, of the home; sons and daughters in law, Erik & Brandi Hessman, Norfolk, VA, Derek & Amy Hessman, Centerton, AR, daughter and son in law,Laura and Lorin Slayton, Prague; daughter-in-law, Linda Hessman of Paden; brother and sister in law, Bob and Sue Hessman, Paden; sister, Betty Spicer, Prague; and 5 grandchildren.
