Melvin Davis Sr.

Melvin Lon Davis Sr. was born on April 10, 1935, in Alpena, Arkansas, and departed this life on Friday, July 20, 2012, in Newalla, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. Melvin, the son of Ernest and Nannie Lou Davis, was a resident of Oklahoma City. He married Jo Ann Walters on November 7, 1962 in Paden. Melvin was a construction worker and was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his wife Jo Ann, his parents, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by hi son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Tabitha Davis of Newalla; grandchildren, Isaiah Davis, Robert Phipps, Cody Phipps, Lanora May Davis, Britinii Davis, Deborah Conley, Star Wolfchief and Elsie Wolfchief; great-grandchildren, Preston, Cory, William, Rylen, Kendra, Cody Jr. and Sadie; sisters, Mary Beard, Betty Lackey, Elsie Singleton and Ina Lambert; and numerous other family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM, at the Prague Cemetery
