McKinley Clarence 'Mac' Pierson, Jr., age 83, of Harrah, OK, was born on March 15, 1930, in Foss, OK. He was the son of Clarence & Willie (Murphy) Pierson. He left this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in Harrah, OK. McKinley attended school in Foss, OK. He proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict in 1951 - 1953. He was in the Anti Air Craft Unit and stationed in Ft. Hancock, New Jersey. Their job was to protect New York City from incoming enemy planes. He lived in a tent in Central Park for 22 months. McKinley married Helen Ferguson on August 15, 1953, in Clinton, OK. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad for 5 years. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 31 years. He worked in the downtown Oklahoma City post office for many of those years. He also worked for H & R Block Tax Service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrah, OK. In his younger years, McKinley loved to play baseball. He coached little league baseball for his sons team for several years. He enjoyed watching his grandson play. His hobbies were gardening, traveling and keeping his yard looking nice. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Joseph, Harold & William (Bud) Pierson, 2 sisters, Elma Stephens and Opal Twyman. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Helen Pierson, Harrah, OK; son & daughter-in-law, James & Tammie Pierson, Choctaw, OK; daughter & son-in-law, Pamela & Bo Bedford, Harrah, OK; brother & sister-in-law, Doyle & Ruth Ann Pierson, Moore, OK; sisters & brothers-in-law, Delvia Rowe, Grove, OK, Arvilla & Lonnie Selfridge, Midwest City, OK, George Twyman, Oklahoma City, OK; 7 grandchildren, Bethany Allen, Blake Pierson, Jennifer Billy, Eric Bedford, Emily Bedford, Shane Ouzts, Cory Ouzts; 4 great-grandchildren, Kayla Billy, Ethan Billy, Brodi Ouzts, Indigo Bean and many nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Harrah First Baptist Church or charity of your choice. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 14, 2013, at the First Baptist Church, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Gary Eubanks and Dr. Doug Jones officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
