Maxine Faye Lokey was born on July 8, 1935, in Prague, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 1, 2022, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the age of 86. She was a lifelong Prague resident. Maxine was the daughter of James Farnum and Vida Lucille (Webb) Sutterfield and grew up on the family farm west of Prague. Her education began in a one-room, schoolhouse at Gable, but most of her school years were completed in Prague, graduating from high school in 1953. She was active in basketball and many other school activities. Following her graduation, she began working for Doyal Greer, in the insurance and tag agency. Maxine married Willis Lokey on December 31, 1954, and together they raised three sons spending many enjoyable hours watching them and the other neighborhood boys playing in the backyard. She later worked for BancFirst as a drive-by teller and truly enjoyed the friends she made during her time there. Maxine took great pride growing flowers and tending to her flowerbeds. She also loved feeding and watching the birds in the backyard. However, her favorite role in life was that of a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her special talent was cooking and spoiled everyone with her cookies, brownies, and pies. Maxine made all that entered her home feel welcome. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Loy Houston Sutterfied, a sister, Avis Jean VanZant, and a brother-in-law, Richard Rice. Survivors include one sister, Loretta Rice of Guthrie; three sons, Randall and Sherri Lokey of Yukon, Ron and Susan Lokey of Prague and Doug and Debbie Lokey of Prague. Grandchildren, Derek Lokey and his wife Tara and their daughter Lexi of Edmond; Kirk Lokey and his wife, Melissa, their children Seth, Marcus and Abbie of Stillwater; Brooke Murphy and her husband, Scott, their children, Logan, Ellie, and James of Yukon; Jennifer Bolding and her husband, Jason, their boys Conner and Caleb of Texas City, Texas. And many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Parks Brothers Funeral Service Chapel in Prague. Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery. Visitation 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 and 8:00AM until the service time at Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague, Oklahoma.
