Max Myers

Max Myers, long time Carney, Oklahoma, resident, was born on July 30, 1936, in Mize, Smith County Mississippi, and departed this life at his home in Carney, Oklahoma, on September 17, 2007, at the age of 71 years Max was the son of Henry Foreman and Gladys Tanner Myers. He graduated from Mize High School in 1954, and entered the United States Army and received a hardship discharge to return to help his ailing father. Max later worked for Mississippi Power and Light, drilled off the Louisiana Gulf Coast, truck farmed, and hauled produce before being employed by Trans Con truck lines in Oklahoma City for 30 years. He married Gwenith Ann King on May 9th, 1964, in Cushing, Oklahoma. Max moved to Carney, Oklahoma in 1968, where he spent the next 40 years trading farm and construction equipment. Max attended the First Baptist Church in Chandler, Oklahoma and was a 32nd degree Mason. His parents, three brothers, two that died shortly after birth, Henry Foreman Myers; Jimmy Quay Myers; and Jack Owen; one sister Hazel Tullos, preceded Max in death. Survivors include, Wife of 43 years, Gwenith of the home, Two sons & daughters-in-law, Max C. & Karyn Myers of Jenks, OK, Rodney & Le?Andra Myers of Danielsville, PA, Six grandchildren, Lauren Myers, Evan Myers, Dylan Armstrong, Trevor Myers, Rylee Myers and Brycen Myers. Other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2007, 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church in Chandler, Oklahoma, with Rev. Rick Blackwell & Rev. Jim Winegar officiating, burial will follow at Carney Cemetery, Carney, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
