Mattie "Rossie" Rowland

Mattie 'Rossie' Rowland, Oklahoma City, OK, age 97, was born on May 24, 1913, in Stephens County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Ross & Martha Ellen (Calhoun) Roach. She left this life on Sunday, March 27, 2011, in Oklahoma City, OK. Rossie attended Empire School in Duncan, OK. She was a member of the First Church or the Nazarene, Harrah, OK. Rossie helped start the Harrah Senior Citizens Center. She was very active at the center and enjoyed helping take people to the doctor and quilting. Rossie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Laymon, one brother, Charles Roach, one sister, Johnnie James and son-in-law, Bill Henson. She is survived by her 2 daughters & son-in-law, Layma & Jim Roudebush, Oklahoma City, OK, Shirley Henson, Konawa, OK; sister,Faye Baskett, Amarillo, TX; 5 grandchildren; Joni Barrett & husband, Richard, Mike Henson & wife, Renee, Randy Henson & wife, Cheryl, Paul Roudebush, Travis Roudebush; 5 great-grandchildren, Clay Barrett, Trent Barrett, Will Henson, Clarke Henson, Rachel Roudebush, and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the Harrah Senior Citizens Center. Services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Pastor Pam Shirk and Pastor Bud Ullrich officiating. Interment will be at 4:00 PM at Marlow Cemetery, Marlow, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
