Mary Isabelle Douglas

Mary Douglas was born on August 6, 1931, in Belleville, Kansas, and departed this life on Saturday, December 20, 2008, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. Mary, the daughter of Burl Francis and Mildred Rose Thornburg Trimmer, was a resident of Shawnee. She married Joe Donald Douglas, Sr. on June 27, 1951 in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1993. She was a homemaker and attended the Open Door Church of God. Her parents, husband and two grandsons, Derek Scott Douglas and George Silas preceded Mary in death. Survivors include, sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Douglas of Shawnee, Joe and Melissa Douglas of Salina, Kansas, Brian Scott and Jennifer Douglas of Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Joni and Wayne Webster of Shawnee, Debbie Higle of Shawnee, Sandy and Herb Kooser of Hiawatha, Kansas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Ruth Trimmer of Oklahoma City, Francis and Jan Trimmer Albany, Georgia; sisters, Beverly Baker of Gainesville, TX, Reicelynn Cook of Oklahoma City; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 2:00 PM, at The Open Door Church of God in Shawnee with James Douglas officiating. Interment will follow at the Dale Cemetery.
