Mary Lou Foster, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in Prague, Oklahoma at the age of 76. Mary Lou was born on January 15, 1949 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of William Carl and Geraldine Marie (Smith) Gamel. Mary grew up in Norman and was a graduate of Norman High School. Mary Lou attended Gordon Cooper Vocational School, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nurse and then went on to Oklahoma State University, where she received her Bachelor of Nursing. Mary Lou worked for many years as a Registered Nurse. Several of those years were spent at the Shawnee Medical Center. She then moved on working for the State of Oklahoma, where she was an RN at the Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center and LE Rader Juvenile Center. 

Mary enjoyed spending time in her garden, where she grew vegetables by the bundles and loved giving them out to family and friends. She was also passionate about her animals, especially her horses and her beloved Shetland Sheepdogs. For many years, Mary Lou was a member of the Oklahoma Equestrian Trail Riding Association, Shetland Associations and the Shawnee Range Riders, where she participated in parades and rodeos. 

Mary Lou was also passionate about her family. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with Christmas gifts. Each year she would pack up the family and the horses for a week or two week long trip to Robbers Cave. She was known throughout her life for her loving spirit and hard work ethic and will be missed by many. 

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Bobby Matthews; her daughter, Niki States and her granddaughter, Leah Adams.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sandra Jackson and her husband, Eric, Shelly Dill and her husband, Paul, and Lauren Green; Stepchildren, Richard Foster and his wife, Tonya, Sarah Lattie and Rebecca Davis and her husband, Brandon; grandchildren, Joseph, Lucia, Cristin, Emily, Jeffrey, Dakota, William, Carly, Colton, Ocean, William, Kate, Bethany, Jacob, Chris, Michael, Brandon, Josh, Bruce and Faith; her brother, Thomas Gamel and his wife, Teddie; one sister, Gay Ann Bliss and numerous great-grandchildren, family and friends.
