Mary Fortelney

Mary Fortelney, age 93, of Harrah, OK, was born on March 12, 1922, in Harrah, OK. She was the daughter of Mike & Mary Tytenicz. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 31, 2015, in Harrah, OK. Mary was a housewife and also worked on the family farm in Harrah. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Jones. Mary enjoyed her family and hosted her family to dinner every Sunday. The house was filled with the laughter of children and the voices of adults playing cards. In more recent years, Mary suffered from poor health and was shared among family members where she experienced a variety of life styles. You might find her at the cabin at the lake, at great grandchildren's ballgames or on occasion at a local casino playing penny slots. She will be deeply missed by all. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tony, 4 sisters, Katherine, Theresa, Rosie & Julia, 2 brothers, Paul & John. She is survived by 3 sons & daughter-in-law, Franklin & Jan Fortelney, Edmond, OK, Jerry Fortelney, Harrah, OK, Larry Fortelney, Harrah, OK; 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Karen & Bob Hightower, Meeker, OK, Janett & Maurice LeBlanc, Midwest City, OK; sister, Jo Machula, Anaheim, CA; 5 grandchildren, Brian Hightower, Cushing, OK, Stacy Rodgers, Meeker, OK, Elizabeth Fortelney, Edmond, OK, Anthony Fortelney, Charleston, SC, Barbara Walker, Oklahoma City, OK; 8 great-grandchildren, Bingham, Brooke, Bailey, Tommy & Bo Hightower, Cushing, OK, Braden & Brenna Rodgers, Meeker, OK, Makala Kosper, Oklahoma City, OK, numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Trisagion will be 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 3, 2015, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Father Raphael Moore officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
