Mary Elizabeth Woods

Mary Elizabeth Woods was born on January 6, 1946, in Tahoka, Texas, and departed this life on Thursday, October 21, 2010, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 64. Mary, the daughter of Joel Gorden and Verma Louise (Weemes) Carey, was a resident of Paden. She married Alvis 'J.R.' Booth Woods on September 30, 1966 in Juarez, Mexico. Mary was a waitress at LaDonna's in Meeker for many years and of the Baptist faith. Her parents; three sisters, Claudia Allen, Dot Palmer, Marion Shankles; two brothers, Bro. Jim Bob Carey and John Dick Carey preceded Mary in death. Survivors include husband, J.R. Woods of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Gorden and Valerie Woods of Claremore, Dory and Melissa Woods of Mannford; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Barbara Carey of Lubbock, TX, Joel and Penny Carey of Arlington, TX; sisters, Ann Bell Long of Garland, TX, Ginger Phillips of Post, TX. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
