Mary Allen Carter was born on February 7, 1935, in Paden, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, May 7, 2016, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 81. Mary, the daughter of Cecil Jackson and Ruth (Morris) Horn, was a resident of Paden. Mary was a longtime member of the Paden Freewill Baptist Church, she was a vocalist and a musician, performing under the stage name of Ginger Williams, Mary performed regularly at Branson and many other places around the country. She loved working on genealogies and collecting relics from the past. Mary was an avid gardener; growing flowers, trees and vegetables of all sorts. She was involved in the Paden Alumni Association, as well as the Paden Senior Citizen Sewing Club. Mary's parents, daughter, Ruth Ann Scott, two brothers, J.C. Jackson and Jackie Lee Jackson, and one grandson, Andy Goss preceded her in death. Mary is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Vickie Goss of Paden, and Danny and Talina Pinion of Shawnee; grandchildren, Meshia Clark, Casey Scott, Michelle Scott, Emma Stout, Matt Goss, Brittani Smelser and Jacob Pinion; brothers, James Wesley Jackson of Ohio; sister, Margaret Traylor of Paden; 24 great grandchildren; many other family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 10:00 AM, at the Paden Cemetery in Paden with Rev Jim Eastep officiating.
