Martha Evelyn Martin

Martha Evelyn Martin was born on December 22, 1935, in Fewell, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, December 31, 2015, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. Evelyn, the daughter of Elmer Levi and Marie Evelyn (Atterberry) Sands, was a resident of Seminole. She married Glenn Martin on July 14, 1973 in Shawnee. Evelyn was a longtime member of the Highway Baptist Church in Seminole, she loved reading and going to Wal-Mart, she was a great cook, but most importantly, she loved her family and any time she could spend with them. Evelyn's parents, husband, three brothers, Hiram Sands, Doug Sands, and Junior Sands, grandchildren Dustin Coleman and Carmelissa Holley preceded her in death. Evelyn is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and David Heaton of Seminole, and Darla and Richard Johnson of Seminole; step son, Butch and LaDonna Martin of Prague; step- daughters, Glenda and Max Case of Paden and Karen Hamilton of Prague; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Patty Sands of Ada; sister, Erna Drummond of Dallas Ga; 20 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM, at Highway Baptist Church in Seminole with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Interment will follow at Paden Cemetery.
