Martha Mae (Coy) Long went to Heaven on December 20, 2024. She was born on October 28, 1953, in Wynnewood, Ok to Sam and Zelda Coy. She grew up in Chandler, Ok and graduated from CHS in 1971. She then moved to Oklahoma City and worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Special Education. Later, she married Bob Long and eventually moved to Holiday Island, AR, where she lived for 27 years. After developing ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease, Martha moved to Oklahoma City in August 2024 to be with her family.
Martha liked to read and loved to travel, which satisfied her passion for collecting vintage items. Her home was like walking into an antique store. She kept her unique personality throughout the years and could still smile, at times, throughout her illness.
In 2012 she adopted a little dachshund that she named Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. They were inseparable until he passed away in November of this year.
Martha was a member of the Holiday Island Baptist Church.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her beloved dachshund, Henry.
She is survived by her sister, Sharon Loy and her husband, Roy of Meeker, Ok; sister, Sue Coy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Gary Coy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; niece, Michelle Day; nephews, Scott Loy, Marc Loy, and Geremy Coy; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
