Mark Kevin Watkins

Mark Kevin Watkins was born on October 27th, 1961 in Shawnee, Ok. He entered his eternal home July 17, 2021 at the age of 59. Mark grew up in Meeker where he graduated from Meeker High School in 1979. He then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University on a baseball scholarship. In 1982, Mark married his beautiful wife of 39 years, Shelli Walden and resided in Meeker, OK. They began their family in 1986 when their oldest daughter Whitney Dawn was born. A few years later they moved to their home in Prague, OK. In 1994 their family was complete after their youngest daughter Brooke Nicole was born. Mark proudly started his 23 year career in the insurance field as an agent in Prague. He enjoyed working in the auction/horse sale world for almost 30 years where he made many lifelong friends. Mark was great at many things - Husband, Daddy, Father in Law, Uncle and the best Pops to his grandchildren. One of his favorite things was sitting with Shelli Dawn in front of the shop under the shade tree and of course holding his favorite sidekick Tessie. Mark loved doing anything and everything with his grandkids. They were his pride and joy. From field trips to ball games, he was at them all. He spent many years team roping, ranching, hunting, and fishing on the river. Mark is preceded in death by his father-in-law James Olan Walden and his grandparents Wes and Cecil Vychytil, Roy and Nye Watkins and Gertie Vychytil. He is survived by his wife Shelli, of the home; his daughter Whitney and husband Derek Williams; daughter Brooke and husband Jeremy Leatherwood; grandchildren Tatum, Linkyn, Teegan and Annie Williams and Tripp Leatherwood, all of Shawnee. He is also survived by mother-in-law Farrell Walden, of Prague; his parents Max and JoAnn Watkins,of Meeker; sister-in-law Melanie and husband Bennie Roller of Prague; sister-in-law Vicki and husband Eb Bauer of Choctaw; brother Todd Watkins of Meeker; brother Shane Watkins and wife Kristi of Mustang; and many nieces and nephews. Mark was a member of First Baptist Church Prague. His days in the saddle are done, but he will forever be with us in our hearts
