Marilyn Jayne Mcbride

Marilyn Jayne McBride was born on Monday, November 6, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, and departed this life on Monday, October 17, 2011, at her home in Prague, Oklahoma surrounded by her family. Marilyn, the daughter of Olen Cleo and Ruby Irene (Spears) Granger, was a resident of Prague. She married Ted McBride on May 13, 1966 in Gainesville, Texas. She assisted Ted with the management of Central Plains Light and Barricade and later Beacon Sign and Tees. Marilyn was a long-time member and pianist of the First Christian Church in Prague, crocheted hats and tams for newborns, and enjoyed a large circle of friends including her Red Hat Group. The McBride family was selected to serve as Parade Marshal of the 2011 Kolache Festival Parade in recognition of their many years of service to the Kolache Festival. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; one step-son, Robert L. McBride; and one brother, Kenneth N. Granger. Survivors include, her husband of 45 years, Ted McBride of the home, daughters and sons-in-law, Kendra D. McBride of Prague, Sheri and Kevin Elsasser of Belton, MO, Kelli M. McBride of Prague, Kimberly and Scott Root of Prague, step-sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Anita McBride of Springfield, MO, Ron and Kathy McBride of Springfield, MO, daughter-in-law, Kim McBride of Atlanta, GA, granddaughter, her 5th daughter, Lauren Root of Prague, 6 Step-grandchildren, 9 Step-Great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law, Janelle and Delbert Dayhoff of Bartlesville, Donna and Dan Hamiter of Sulphur Springs, TX, brothers-in-law, Bill McBride and his wife Pat of Lafe, AR, Don McBride and his wife Betty of Edmond, Jack McBride and his wife Pat of Edmond, Jim McBride and his wife Darlene of Guthrie, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Memorials may be made to, American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, OKC, OK 73123-1718 or Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, PO Box 10086, Toledo, OH 43699-2086. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at 10:00 AM, at the First Christian Church in Prague with Rev. Susan Payne officiating.
