Marie W. Gough

Marie Wilhelmina Sophie Ertel Gough, age 97, of McLoud, OK, was born on December 31, 1910 in Wellston, OK. She was the daughter of Gilbert Herman & Gertrude Gordel Ertel. She left this life on Friday, June 13, 2008, in Shawnee, OK. Marie lived in the McLoud area her entire life. She was a homemaker and helped her husband, H.O. Gough run a dairy in McLoud until 1963. She was active in the McLoud Senior Citizens Center. Marie was a great cook and was best known for her pies, especially her coconut cream pie. She loved to dance and was a member of a square dance team. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and one son, Billy Joe Smith. Survivors include 2 sons, Elmer L. Smith, Harrah, OK, Gilbert H. Gough, McLoud, OK; 1 daughter & son-in-law, Virginia & John Drew, Harrah, OK; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 16, 2008, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK with Rev. Lewis Walters officiating. Interment will follow at Jent Cemetery, McLoud, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
