Marie A. Cooper

Marie A. Cooper was born on September 20, 1924, in Micawber, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 85. Marie, the daughter of Albert James and Carrie Mae (Wilson) Ashlock, was a resident of Shawnee. She married James Lowell Cooper, Sr., on June 14, 1941, at the Burnett Mission in Paden. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2000. For many years, Marie was the Administrator of the Drumright Nursing Home. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Drumright. Her parents; one brother; one sister; and son, Jackie, also preceded Marie in death. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Cooper of Paramaribo, Surinam, South America and Rick Cooper of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Gary Evers of Moore; grandchildren, Jeff and Leslie Cooper, Jacob and Rachel Williams, Derek Evers, Jennifer and Jeremiah Seymour, Dillon Evers; great-grandchildren, Taylor Cooper, McKenzie Cooper, Austin Cooper, Jacob Williams, Emma Williams, Dylan Williams. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church in Drumright with Dr. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery in Prague. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
