Margrett Lamer Clonts was born on April 18, 1925, in Paden, Oklahoma and departed this life on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, in Paden, at the age of 91. Margrett, the daughter of Andrew Michael and Rosa Angeline (Whitley) Brown, was a resident of Paden. She married Sherman Clonts on December 28, 1953. Margrett was an example of the Proverbs 31 woman, as caring for her family’s needs, resourcefully and with great love, was her priority. She was known to have her children pick out a switch for a “whoopin”, and it had better be a good one that would not break easily or they would have to pick another one. As a mother and a granny, she taught her family, starting at a young age, about the Lord. Anything she could grow or make was not bought in a store. Margrett made jellies and canned fresh picked veggies and taught these skills to her children. She even made homemade panties for Christmas that are now passed down. At Christmas, everyone waited for her hot chocolate and chicken and dumplings. There are great memories of Margrett and her family sitting in a circle singing hymns and songs that were written by Sherman. She was known for being able to fix anything. Margrett was a faithful member of Prague Assembly of God Church. Margrett’s parents; husband; grandchildren, Cheryl Griffith and Dale Musgrove and grandchild-in-law Galena Musgrove preceded her in death. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law Andy and Vicky Gamill of Tulsa, Wayne and Debbie Clonts of Paden; daughters and sons-in-law Mae McNulty of Paden, Faye and Floyd Bryant of Paden, and Gail and Craig Fipps of Prague; grandchildren Denise and Steve Ballard, Dena and Danny Hubert, Bobby Musgrove, Shawn and Becky Gammill, Johnny and Sandy Bryant, Teresa Bryant Leffew, Angie and Michael DeLong, Eric Clonts, Aaron and Amanda Fipps, and Mitchell and Kristina Fipps; 23 Great grandchildren; 26 Great great grandchildren; sisters Pauline Orr of Paden, and Delores Case of Paden and many other family and friends. The Clonts family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 1:00 PM, at Prague Assembly of God Church with Rev. Kevin Wehli officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
