Marcelious Royer

Marcelious Royer was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on August 18, 1911 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the age of 97 years. Marcelious was the son of Grover Cleveland and Cora Lee Herrin Royer. Marcelious was a resident of Stroud all of his life. He married Vesta Mae Belle Hodge in Chandler, Oklahoma on January 27, 1931. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Davenport, Oklahoma. In his life he was a pilot & diesel engineer, driller in the oilfield, and Retired from the State of Oklahoma Transportation Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Betty Jo Royer, Horatio Louise Royer Davis, 1 brother, one granddaughter and two grandsons. Survivors include, Wife, Vesta of the home, Three Daughters, Sharon Cook & husband Bob of Prague, OK, Judy Lynch & husband Freddie of Chandler, OK, Sharlene Smith of Stroud, OK, Two Sisters, Hortense Ninness of Stroud, OK, Conovah Goodrich of Wrangell, Alaska, Three Granddaughters, Four Grandsons, Sixteen Great Grandchildren, Others relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Davenport on Friday, May 1, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, Oklahoma under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
