M. Lucille Nelson

Maggie Lucille Nelson, McLoud, OK, age 81, was born on November 25, 1927, in McLoud, OK. She was the daughter of John & Mattie Belle Carr Tison. She passed from this life on March 21, 2009, in McLoud, OK. Lucille graduated from McLoud High School. She married Homer Leon Nelson on June 17, 1947, in McLoud, OK. Lucille was a bookkeeper for many years. She was an accomplished bowler and participated in bowling tournaments around the country. Lucille loved spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids and enjoyed going to the lake with them. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Joyce Ann Holekamp, four brothers, three sisters and special friend, Orville Griggs. Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, John & Carla Nelson, McLoud, OK; 3 grandchildren, Tammy Holekamp, Oklahoma City, OK, Steve & Kim Holekamp, Guthrie, OK, Melissa & Jimmy Hanks, McLoud, OK; 5 great-grandchildren, Wyatt & Austin Holekamp, Michael, Hannah & Izabelle Hanks and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to caregiver, Marilyn Helton and Loving Care Hospice of Shawnee, especially Debra, Jennifer and Kalecia, for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church of McLoud with Rev. Ruth Tipps officiating. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery, Dale, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
