Lynne Elayne Kelton Wilkerson was born on March 8, 1949, in Oklahoma City, and departed this life on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 59. Lynne, the daughter of Max Hershel Kelton and Juanita Maye Muncy Kelton, was a resident of Meeker. She graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1967 where she was the drum major of the marching band and was a member of the National Honor Society, ranking 3rd in her class. She received her BA degree from Southern Nazarene University and her Paralegal certification from the University of Oklahoma, College of Law. She married Dick Wilkerson on May 15, 1998, in Shawnee. She began her professional career at the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation as a clerk typist in 1969, and was then appointed as the first Project Director of the Uniform Crime Reporting Program in 1976, and in 1978 she was again promoted to Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director. In 1983 Lynne left the OSBI to pursue legal work in the private sector before resuming her employment with the State of Oklahoma in 1989. Over the next nineteen years she served as a caseworker in the Child Support Enforcement Division of the Pottawatomie County District Attorney''s Office, later becoming the Office Manager. Upon her retirement she received proclamations and citations for her exemplary service from the State Legislation, and Governor Brad Henry declared April 17th, 2008 Lynne Wilkerson Day. Survivors include husband, Dick Wilkerson of the home; mother, Juanita Kelton of Prague; father, Max Kelton of Kellyville; sons and daughter-in-law, Dr. Bret Wood of Oklahoma City, Bill and Molly Wood of Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Max Harvey and Glenda Kelton of Yukon; sister and brother-in-law, Caryl and Mike Priddy of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Keeli and Riley Wood, and Kitera; step-children, Kim Kizarr and her husband Bryon of Marlow, K.C. Wilkerson and his wife Angela of Tecumseh, Kathy Wilson and her husband Josh of Marlow; and 6 step-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 5, 2008, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, OKC Office, 6525 N. Meridian, Suite 110, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 2:00, at Prague United Methodist Church in Prague with Rev. Dyton Owen, Rev. Sharon Capron officiating. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery.
