Lucky Christian Miller died November 10, 2019, in Pensacola Beach, Florida. Lucky was 44 years old. He was a resident of Stroud, Oklahoma. Lucky was born November 1, 1975, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Johnny and Jo An Miller. Lucky had one sister, Katy. He grew up in Davenport, Oklahoma, where he graduated high school in 1994. Lucky married Amber Dawn Shields on July 17, 1998, and moved to Stroud. He dispatched for the Stroud Police Department until he turned age 21, when he attended C.L.E.E.T academy. He knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement. In 1997, Lucky continued his career with the Stroud Police Department as an officer and then became Stroud PD Chief. In 2007, Lucky became Chief of the Mannford Police Department where he served until his death. Lucky spent his life helping people through his police work. He was a proud member of the District 24 Drug and Violent Crime Task Force. Lucky and Amber had three children—Kale, Logan, and Carly. Lucky enjoyed spending time with them and his wife. He loved to joke, hunt, and fish. He liked to go to the lake. He loved to make people laugh with his pranks. Lucky was a member of the Davenport Independent Baptist Church and attended the Stroud First Baptist Church where he enjoyed cooking dinner on Wednesday nights for the church youth group. Lucky is survived by his wife, Amber, and his children, Kale, Logan, and Carly, his parents, Johnny and Jo An Miller, his granny, Ruth Strong, and sister, Katy Landrum, and husband, Jason, nephews, Jake, Wade, and Bo, his Uncle Hank and Aunt Gwendy, and many, many more family members, friends, and law enforcement colleagues. Lucky was preceded in death by his Pap, the late Vern Strong. Lucky’s Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 16, at 10am at the Davenport First Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend James Bond. He will be buried at the Stroud Cemetery. The service is under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Stroud.
