Lucille Dawson-Childress

Lucille Lenora Dawson-Childress was born on March 3, 1924, in El Reno, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in Bristow, Oklahoma, at the age of 86. Lucille, the daughter of Andrew J. and Myrtle (Trimble) Thompson, was a resident of Bristow. She graduated from high school in El Reno. Lucille married Clyde Dawson on February 21, 1948 at the Burnett Mission Church. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1992. She married Aurbrey McKinley Childress on September 15, 1998. Aurbrey preceded Lucille in death on May 12, 2010. She was an evangelist and a member of the Lighthouse Holiness Church until she moved to Bristow in 1998. At that time, she was affiliated with the Pentecostal Mission Church in Sapulpa. Her parents, one brother, one step-son, and one step-granddaughter also preceded Lucille in death. Survivors include step-daughters, Sharon Dean of Bristow, Carla Ajaz and her husband Mohammad of Bristow; step-grandchildren and spouses, Joel and Vicki Vanderslice, Jerry and Angie Childress, Terry and Cindy Wells, Scott Childress, Travis and Brandi Marlin, Starla Childress, Rakhshinda Ajaz, Rasheed Ajaz; step-great-grandchildren, Sarah Levy, Bud Wells, Ben Wells, Bryce Cooley, Michael Wells, Christina Wells, Kirsten Brown, Justin Marlin, Audrey Childress, Langston Walker, Bridgett Marlin, and Destiney Marlin. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM, at the Lighthouse Holiness Church in Prague with Rev. Aaron Brock, Rev. Neal Bridges, and Rev. Ronnie Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at the Paden Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
