Louise M. Kuebeck was born in June 16, 1936 in Morristown, New Jersey, and departed this life on Thursday, March 22, 2012, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 75. Louise, the daughter of Charlotte and Martin McDermott, Sr., was a resident of Prague since 1978. She married Peter Kuebeck, Sr., on November 1, 1958 in New Jersey. Louise was a wildlife watercolor artist and traveled to art competitions and shows across the state She served as curator of the Prague Historical Museum from 1990 - 95 and served regularly as a docent at the Museum. Louise was editor of the Prague Historical Society's first newsletter and continued in that capacity through the January 2005 issue. She also worked with other organizations in the community and gave generously of her time and talent. In 1990, Louise was honored with the Governor's Excellence award which was presented to her at a luncheon at the Oklahoma Cowboy Hall of Fame. In 1996, she was presented the Pride in Prague award by the Prague Chamber of Commerce. Louise was a member of P.E.O. Prague Chapter AF, the Prague Art Guild, and the Prague United Methodist Church. Louise was preceded in death by parents;her son, Thomas Kuebeck; and one brother. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Peter Kuebeck of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Peter, Jr., and Connie Kuebeck of Edmond; granddaughter, Jessica Brown of San Francisco, CA; sister, Hazel Agoo of Berlin, NJ; brother and sister-in-law, Martin, Jr., and Shirley McDermott of Berlin, NJ; several nieces and nephews and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Scott Keneda officiating.
