Louis Calaway Warden was born on November 12, 1924, in Texola, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Friday, June 15, 2007, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. Louis, the son of McKinley Louis and Clara Clementine Simmons Warden, was a resident of Paden. He married Billie Jean Dyer on April 21, 1944, in Paden. He proudly served his country with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He attained the rank of Corporal, saw service in China, Burma, and India, and was awarded campaign ribbons for the American Theater and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Louis was a Quality Control Engineer in the aerospace industry. He was the first city manager for the City of Prague. He also served as city manager for Stroud, Henryetta, and Medford. Louis was of the Baptist faith. His parents and two brothers, Leonard and Loyd, preceded Louis in death. Survivors include his wife of 63 years,Billie Jean of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Judy Warden of Edmond and Monty and Gloria Warden of Oklahoma City; daughter and son-in-law,Gayla and Jim Ward of Edmond; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford Ray and Vernice Warden of McKinney, TX; brother-in-law, Clayton Dyer and his wife, Wanda, of Tulsa; sister-in-law, Fran Warden of Lenexa, Kansas; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
