Jessie Lois Taber was born in Seminole County on March 26, 1923 and departed this life at her home in Prague on February 6, 2013. She was 89 years of age. Lois was the daughter of Jesse and Flossie (Tucker) Aldridge. She grew up on the family farm in Seminole County and graduated from Strother High School with the Class of 1941. She married Richard J. Taber in Seminole on December 18, 1941. Richard preceded her in death on April 11, 2004. Lois enjoyed a successful thirty year career in banking with many of those spent at Prague National Bank (now Vision Bank). In 1965 she took a leave of absence from her banking career to join her husband in North Africa where they were both employed by Oasis Oil Company. They returned from Africa in 1969 and made their home in the northeastern part of Seminole County. Lois retired from the bank in 1985 and they moved to Prague in 1994. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Survivors include, one son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Dowanna Taber of Prague; two grandsons, Rusty and Jessica Taber of Prague, and Michael Neal Taber and Candace Smith of Meeker; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM, at Little Cemetery with Rev. Randall Miller officiating. Following the wishes of Mrs. Taber there will be no viewing.
